Pictures!


This picture was taken by Walter Althoff in his garden in Hardy, VA and submitted by his friends, Elly and Pam Wefel. The black rat snake tried at least five separate times to get around the baffle, but was unsuccessful. If you notice, the snake is having no trouble at all going up the slick pole. It's only when it hits the wider baffle that it stops. The bluebird chicks successfully fledged.




And, since the newsletter says the pictures are here, I'd better put the next few pictures back on the page. These pictures are of an olive-sided flycatcher that came to our (Tim and Alyce Quinn's) house this spring. Alyce got some good pictures "digiscoping."
